Accurate identification of your needs
To ensure a durable, clean and resistant bond, it is essential to select an adhesive suited to the nature of the materials, the mechanical stresses and the operating conditions.
The key technical criteria to consider are:
- the nature of the application (permanent or temporary bonding, repositionable assembly, high-temperature masking, sealing, floor marking, surface protection, etc.) and the size of the surface involved (small or large surfaces)
- the substrates to be bonded
To create an adhesive bond, the adhesive must be in close contact with the surface of each substrate.
Surface energy (low, medium and high surface energy — a high surface energy substrate is easier to bond than a low surface energy substrate) and the nature of the materials (smooth, rough, uneven, etc.) must be carefully assessed.

Optimal selection of materials and bonding technologies

These are the two main elements that determine the type of tape required for each application.
There are three main adhesive families: rubber, acrylic and silicone adhesives, each offering specific technical properties.
The backing, on the other hand, is a flexible material that can be made from various materials: paper, films (polypropylene, polyethylene, polyimide (Kapton®)), polyester, PTFE, PVC, metal (aluminium, copper, lead), rubber, foam, glass fabric, cloth, etc.
Each backing has its own technical characteristics, enabling it to meet the constraints defined beforehand.
The width, length and adhesive thickness are also taken into account when selecting the product.
